the gig was really good, one of my favorites i think. all the new songs sound absolutely amazing. ‘heaven again’ with band is so powerful, definitely up there with ‘hope in the air’ and ‘alpha shallows.’ ‘rest in the bed’ with band as well, i loved it. i think the banjo especially brought something to it. part of me wants someone to upload videos of these so that i can listen to them again and again, but i also really want to be surprised by the album. it’s going to be so good.
all of them were in good spirits, loads of smiles. Pete Roe was hilarious, though rather unwillingly. Not to mention Laura’s story about meeting Jack White, i’m sure that will find its way on youtube too.
